Who we are

Two people sitting at a table near a window in a cozy cafe, smiling at the camera. There is a potted plant on the windowsill and a brick wall in the background.

Forest Forager is a small-scale mushroom farm in the heart of the RRG Kentucky. We are passionate about providing high-quality food mushrooms to our community and beyond.

Where did it begin? We spent a year traveling the world on the Watson fellowship researching the intersection of regenerative agriculture, community resiliency, wilderness preservation, and small-scale tourism. We traveled to eight countries and 85 destinations. You can read more about the adventure, and some of its lesson below:

After visiting food systems and communities around the world, we returned to Kentucky, eager to apply what we had learned by starting a mushroom farm. Starting a mushroom farm is no simple task! It requires many hours of dedication and a steep learning curve.

Mushrooms are incredible! We are excited to be producing high-quality protein and nutrient-rich food for our community and beyond.
